Ukrainian artist Vi Talli will release her new single “RUNNING” on January 29, continuing the rollout of her forthcoming debut album NO TIME FOR PERFECTION. The track follows her first release, “YOU DON’T KNOW ME,”and marks a clear step forward in both sound and story.

Where “YOU DON’T KNOW ME” introduced Vi as an emotionally direct and unguarded new voice, “RUNNING”captures a decisive moment of change. The song centres on the point at which staying still is no longer an option, when choosing yourself requires movement, distance, and resolve.

“Running is about the moment you realise you simply can’t stay where you’ve been, no matter how familiar it feels,” Vi explains. “It’s reclaiming yourself.”

Music has been a constant in Vi Talli’s life from an early age. Raised in a family of musicians and performers, she grew up immersed in sound and songwriting. In 2022, as she prepared to release her debut solo album in Ukraine, Russia’s invasion abruptly halted those plans. Forced to flee with her younger sister, Vi found refuge in France, where she performed wherever possible - on streets, in cafés, and in small venues - using music as both survival and expression.

That period reshaped her artistic direction. Performing across unfamiliar cities and cultures, Vi absorbed new influences while deepening the emotional clarity of her songwriting. In late 2023, another unexpected turn followed a chance encounter that led her to relocate to the United States. Moving between Miami, Nashville, and Los Angeles, Vi immersed herself in the American music landscape, further refining her voice and perspective.

“RUNNING” reflects that journey. Sonically, the track is uplifting and resolute, balancing softness with strength. There is a sense of forward motion throughout - optimism that feels earned rather than imagined. Each note carries the clarity that arrives when fear gives way to purpose.
